A bright, PG animated adventure where the pups land on a dinosaur island, meet a stranded pup named Rex, and race to stop a volcano set off by Humdinger's reckless mining. This PG family fantasy-adventure follows Moana as she voyages beyond her island's reef with the demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson) to restore her people's prosperity, from director Thomas Kail. It's a live-action telling and the lowest-rated pick here at 31% from critics, so temper expectations, though the seafaring quest still suits families with older kids. Heads up: screenings are very limited this week — essentially one last chance, so catch it while you can.
